The project involved the restructuring of the exit section of the Pedro Hispano Viaduct, in the direction of Constituição Avenue / Sidónio Pais Avenue, with the objective of widening the roadway — which now accommodates two traffic lanes. The expanded area is supported by an embankment retained by granite masonry retaining walls with a thickness of 30 cm. The wall structure consists of regularly shaped stones of varying sizes, with joints filled with a mortar composed of cement and sand, and a bush-hammered finish texture. A concrete coping was constructed on top of these walls to support the installation of safety guardrails.
