Located in Maia, Casa Marília is a single-family residence set on a spacious 5,556 m² plot. This renovation and expansion project stems from the requalification of an early 20th-century building—originally known as “Casa Brasileira Maria Odete”—a unique construction in Portugal, strongly influenced by Brazilian architecture. Despite its advanced state of deterioration, the building was classified as built heritage, presenting a significant challenge: preserving its historical identity while adapting it to the demands of contemporary living. The intervention aimed to strike a balance between past memories and modern comfort, prioritizing generous social spaces and a strong connection with the surrounding garden. Now reborn as a modern and sophisticated home, Casa Marília incorporates new features such as a garage, laundry room, indoor pool, six bedrooms, spacious living areas, kitchen, office, and a basement with storage and a wine cellar. A project that honors its history while embracing the future.
