Located in Vila do Conde, Belamar is a multi-service complex built on the grounds of a former canned food factory. Belamar project was conceived to transform one of the city’s main entrances. It combines residential, tourism, and commercial functions in an innovative and efficient way. The complex includes a commercial area of approximately 8,000 square meters and a main building divided into three sections: two dedicated to housing and one to hospitality. Belamar’s main building stands out within the entire complex with its five floors. Its expressive character emerges from the interplay between the three interconnected volumes, the way light interacts with the prismatic modules that define its white façade, and the perception of the twisted forms of the upper volume — further emphasized by the base on which it rests. Belamar is a functionally diverse project that addressed various challenges with the goal of offering human-scale solutions and creating high-quality urban spaces. These objectives guided the entire design and development process.
